SendmailL is an applet that simulates a C.G.I. script that lets you post mail right from a web page, without invoking the browser text editor on a different window. It is configurable up to the button names from the html document, making it multi-languages capable.

Several persons have had a hard time installing the SendmailL applet on their WEB server. Well, you can always load it from other servers. This is simplier and the results are garanteed!

To do that, just download the SendmailL.html file following the instructions on the "Full installation on your server" section. Then edit that file to replace:

<applet codebase="../classes">

by:

<applet codebase="http://jq.oc9.com/java/classes">

That's it! the SendmailL applet now works on your page. Only one file to download!

Full installation on your server

To make the SendmailL applet run in your own page, you need to put the following files in the same directory on your machine. In netscape, just use the right button of your mouse to click on the files and choose save link as... to download. These are really short files, so it shouldn't take you more than 3 minutes.

You need to have a smtp server running on port 25 on the same host where your web page will reside. This is the case for the vast majority of web servers. To find out, just type the following in netscape:
telnet://www.your_servername.com:25
If you get an answer, type quit and hit enter, this means you have a smtp server running on your web site. The applet will still run without it but you will get a post-error when trying to post the message.
